Handmade Paper Quilled Quilling Lilac Branch

This is a handmade lilac branch done in the ancient art of paper quilling, paper filigree or "Painting with Paper."  It measures 12" x 12" and comes framed.  It can stand in a tabletop or it can be hung. 

The flower petals were made with tiny 1mm (1/64") paper strips.  Each were rolled shaped and combined in a set of four for each flower.  The leaves were also handmade. The paper used is a handmade paper from Nepal. I painted the leaves with Liquitex Professional Paint.  

Each flower and leave has floral wire for stability and realism.  The flowers and leaves were all bent and positioned into the piece.  

This piece took an excess of 20 hours to complete.
